A new generation of gaming......

So the year has come. A new generation of gaming.
The Wii-U is out. Soon to be released the Playstation 4, Xbox 720 and my MOST anticipated the Steambox. All will be released this year FALL 2013. Honestly, I am getting bored of playing COD BO2 every single day and I am interested in preparing myself to broadened my horizon with fellow U&V members.

-The Wii-U userbase as of right now isn't that big enough to play a mix of KIll confirm, TDM, and hardpoint.

-Just a little bit of info: Playstation 4, Xbox 720, Steambox will most likely sell for $399 minimum.

*Most of you know about PS4, Xbox 720, BUT NOT Steambox.

What is Steambox?

Well Valve corporation (makers of Half life, Portal, Left 4 Dead) is working on a console-style PC designed to work through a television rather than a computer monitor. Just like xbox has "xbox live," Playstation has "playstation network," and "Nintendo network," well Steambox has "STEAM."

As of December 2012, there are over 1860 games available through Steam, and 54 million active user accounts. As of January 2013, Steam has seen over 6.6 million concurrent players. Steam has an estimated 50–70% share of the digital distribution market for video games.

***You can buy games on Steam at a DISCOUNTED price. Majority of third party games will be released for STEAMBOX. There are games for $5,$10,$20, $50, $60.

**What makes Steam so special?
First of all ITS FREE online service like Nintendo network. One of the reasons why many CONSOLE players do not know about Steam its because PC is their main platform, BUT Valve will release their own console this year. It would be dedicated to running Steam to allow players to launch games, media, and other functions that the client already provides.

I also have Steam on my PC & have a few games there I've bought. It is a pretty cool service & I had no idea they were bringing out their own console! I'll hafta check that out.

Meantime, we indeed will be staying with the Wii & Wii-u only. If we did branch out (& we might someday), it would be the xbox &/or PS3 route. I know pretty much every member in U&V & the PC isn't the "chosen" platform by 95% of our members. It's just the way it is.

Does steam do things for mac or is it just pc?

I'm down grading to the n64. Its more in my price range.

Well I did say Wii-U / Steambox. Its not like "i am leaving." Just stretching.

**It would be even better if COD had "match making system" like clan vs clan. But they dont.

Steambox will have Linux installed. It WONT be a closed console either. Which means you can install windows if you want to.

*Their Anti cheat system is phenomenal.

I would get this. But at this point even with all the consoles coming out. My Wii U will be my primary console hands down.

O yeh Wii-U will be my primary console as well. Steambox will definitely be secondary. I dont feel the need to build PC anymore. ^.^

Wii U is definitely going to be my primary. PS4 will probably be my secondary depending on what exclusives they have.

Sony definitely has exclusives.....but their AAA has been somewhat of a lackluster with lower than expected ratings.
