As Wii U owners well know, the load time when switching between apps or returning to the Home menu is absolutely painful. But if this new teaser video is any indication, in just a few short weeks that frustratingly long wait will be a thing of the past.

Sound too good to be true? As they say, seeing is believing. Nintendo has released a video showing off just how much faster the system's load times will be following the forthcoming firmware update set to hit Wii U this April. Take a look for yourself, then let us know your thoughts on this much-needed improvement in the comments at the bottom of the page.

**TO BE RELEASED IN APRIL**

All these issues are very discerning. I'm highly disappointed. I think Nintendo needs to lower its price level to about $50. Then maybe I'd invest.

They dont even agree with a price cut. More games are coming this year so that's a good thing.

*No one really knows the reason why Nintendo is taking it slow at the moment.

I agree. I also think is Nintendo network part of the problem aside from Treyarch.

I'll believe it when I see it. Also, it seems to be a ongoing topic in most lobbies I'm in as to whether or not the WiiU is getting map packs. I'm not sure what Nintendo has EVER done that would lead anyone to believe we are going to get anything.

WE AREN'T GETTING ANYTHING !!!!

If I'm wrong it'll be a nice surprise but I, for 1, am not expecting it

Can you imagine how stupid people will feel when Nintendo "success meter" becomes visible after talking down about the wii-u? lol

I think Nintendo's mentality so far suggests that their "success meter" is also my avatar.....

Wii-U massive update coming next week!!! Don't forget your seatbelts mojos Laughing

As previously mentioned, the new firmware improves load times. It will also let users go straight into Wii mode by pressing the “B” button at startup, provides automatic updates, and a new standby feature that downloads and installs content while the system is turned off.
The Wii U update also marks the official start of the Virtual Console service. Excitebike, Super Mario World, Super Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros. 2, Donkey Kong, Kirby, and Ice Climbers are among the games coming to the service.
Wii U Panorama View available as a free downloadable demo next week.
